  • The Municipal Palace was next to the Royal House (now the Government Palace). It was a one-story stone mansion, which included the municipal jail. It was built during the government of Santiago Aguirre (1734-1736). With the passage of time it underwent several modifications in its architecture and in 1928 its façade was remodeled and a new tower with a clock was built.
